Mater of Laws / Taxation
Taft University System

Program Details

A online Master of Laws with a concentration in Taxation from Taft Law School is geared towards practicing lawyers and graduates of law school who work in consulting, corporate finance, government or another related field. The program is an independent study, allowing you maximum flexibility to achieve your master’s while working full-time.

Learning is completely at your own pace with assignments due upon completion, not on a specific date or according to a specific syllabus. All assignments have to be completed by the end of the semester, but the deadline is extended if you have not finished your work. You may also take time off between semesters or for vacation, etc. However, Taft expects the entire degree curriculum to be completed within 3 years.

Taft Law believes that the crux of this program is to develop keen research methods and skills, and foster analytical thinking.  There is no emphasis on rigid memorization of tax rules or law. Therefore, exams are open-book.
