Program Details

Taft College offers an online Associate in Arts in Spanish degree, which is a transfer degree.  Upon successful completion of this degree in Spanish, students are able to transfer to CSU as a junior to continue their educations in Spanish.  The curriculum offers the foundation students will need for ongoing study in the field of Spanish.  You will find a direct route for transfer to upper division work in Spanish through both structured and semi-structured opportunities and an in-depth study of the Hispanic Culture, gaining the knowledge and skills needed to successfully transfer to a university or for a career where speaking Spanish is required. 

Graduates will be able to:

• Create and give a clear presentation in Spanish
• Speak with others in Spanish at the intermediate level
• Create compositions in Spanish at the intermediate level
• Create and give presentations about music and foods from Spanish speaking countries
• Summarize the main historical events that shaped Latin American culture and civilization
