St. John’s College of Nursing is a private nursing school. It offers upper division bachelor’s degree completion programs for those who’ve completed prerequisite liberal arts and sciences courses at another institution. It also offers a few master’s nursing programs.
The school has an association with the Roman Catholic Church; specifically, the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis. In fact, it is cited as the oldest Catholic hospital-based school of nursing in the United States.
St. John’s has a strong commitment to increase diversity in the student body and faculty and staff. This commitment extends to the curriculum, creating an inclusive view of nursing. Programs are designed to support underserved populations, both inside and outside the classroom.
