Program Details

The MS in Special Education from Southwest Minnesota State University offers four areas of emphasis. Students can opt for an emphasis in the following:

  • Autism spectrum disorder
  • Developmental disabilities
  • Emotional behavioral disorders
  • Learning disabilities

All students participate in two practicums to apply the skills and knowledge learned in the online special education curriculum. Furthermore, students select at least one area of licensure. Possible areas of study include academic behavioral strategist, early childhood special education, and learning disabilities.
