School Details

Southern University at Shreveport, a unit of the Southern University System located at Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was created by Act 42 of the ordinary session of the Louisiana Legislature on May 11, 1964, and designated a two-year college to serve the Shreveport-Bossier City area. Its basic emphasis was to provide the first two years of typical college and university work. SU Shreveport’s mission is “teaching and preparing traditional and non-traditional students for degree attainment, transfer, workforce, continuous learning and self-improvement.”

SU Shreveport offers certificates, technical diplomas and associate degrees. Online programs are offered to allow students to balance education, work, and other responsibilities. Graduates are prepared for success in their careers and beyond by obtaining the skills and training offered at Southern University at Shreveport.
