Master of Science in Occupational Safety and Health

Program Details

Southeastern Oklahoma State University offers the online MS in Occupational Safety and Health. This program is designed for students with an interest in the safety, health, and welfare of personnel at various businesses and organizations. It is the goal of OSH professionals to promote a safe work environment, protecting employees, families, and communities. 

Required courses cover topics such as the following:

  • workers compensation
  • legal liability
  • food safety
  • toxicology

Requirements

There are two weekend lab components that require students to come to the Durant campus.

  • A bachelor of science degree in Occupational Safety & Health or a related field OR a bachelor’s degree with completion of prerequisite coursework in occupational safety and related areas of study
  • A minimum of a 2.75 GPA on all undergraduate work completed and 2.75 minimum GPA in all occupational safety courses completed
  • Completion of College Algebra or higher math course
  • Essay
  • Any other entrance requirements required for the SOSU graduate school
