Sinclair Community College offers a Medical Coding & Billing Specialist Short-term Technical Certificate. The program prepares students for entry-level medical coding and billing work in medical offices, outpatient billing services, and insurance companies.
Graduates develop skills in areas such as:
- Diagnostic and procedural coding
- Medical terminology
- Anatomy and physiology
- Processing of insurance claims
Throughout the online medical coding and billing program, students learn critical thinking, effective communication skills, and problem-solving. Graduates demonstrate attitudes, values, and personal behaviors consistent with those of successful healthcare professionals. Completion of this program provides eligibility to sit for the CPC-A (Certified Professional Coder-Apprentice) exam.
