Program Details

Sinclair Community College has a program for those who want to work in home health care but not patient care. The Certificate in Home Health Medical Coding prepares you to work in entry-level medical billing and coding positions in home health agencies. 

The curriculum is similar to their Medical Coding & Billing Specialist Short-term Technical Certificate. Program outcomes include the following:

  • Accurate application of diagnosis code numbers using the ICD_10-CM classification system
  • Interpretation of federal regulations and coding guidelines for code number assignment
  • Identification of correct code number assignments and reimbursement impacts
  • Demonstration of values, attitudes, and personal behaviors of successful healthcare professionals

Completion of this online medical coding and billing certificate allows graduates to take the exam to earn their HCS-D credentials (Home Care Coding Specialist-Diagnosis credential).
