About San Joaquin Valley College

Robert and Shirley Perry realized a gap existed for the training of Medical Assistants. Three students graduated from their first program founding San Joaquin Valley College (SJVC) in 1977. Since that date, the private, for-profit junior college continues to provide students with an accelerated option in preparation for business, medical, and technical professions.

SJVC provides real-world skills that students need to step into new careers while serving their communities with integrity. Students from all walks of life are welcome. Everything at SJVC starts with people. With a combination of classroom, hands-on, and online learning, programs are designed to support the priorities of each student. SJVC Online provides students with the opportunity to pursue associate’s degrees and certificates. Many degrees can be completed entirely online for the convenience of working students.
