Salt Lake Community College was established in 1948 and continues today as a 2-year, public community college located in Salt Lake City, Utah. Salt Lake Community College is the largest institution of higher education in the State of Utah. The school began as the Salt Lake Area Vocational School, which evolved out of the War Production Training School that was established at West High School during World War II. Over the years, the school grew and became a community college under the accreditation from the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges.
Salt Lake Community College offers associate’s degrees, certificates, and diplomas. SLCC works with other state institutions in providing a quality transfer program for those students who wish to continue to receive a bachelor’s degree. In addition to the traditional courses, SLCC offers courses that can be completed entirely online. SLCC is affordable and has a low student to teacher ratio, so students can receive excellent personal attention from dedicated faculty.
