The online Associate in Applied Science in Medical Administrative Assistant program prepares students to work in agencies such as hospitals, clinics, or medical groups as secretaries to surgeons or physicians. Students are required to complete courses in Written and Oral Communication, Critical Thinking, Natural Sciences, History and the Social and Behavioral Sciences, Humanities, Human Diversity, Computer/Information Literacy, and Career and Personal Development. The curriculum also includes professional business courses such as keyboarding, human relations, medical terminology, medical transcription, information resource management, business communications, medical office procedures, and pathophysiology and pharmacology.
