Queens offers a certificate in Strategic Communication that is 15 credit hours, along with a certificate in Organizational Communication. These certificates are stackable; by completing both certificates, you can earn the 30-credit hour M.A. in Communication. The courses in the certificate program are offered online or on-campus/hybrid in eight-week sessions.
By completing the courses for the certificate in Strategic Communication, you will learn how to use digital technologies to create compelling messages for a specific audience that advance an individual's or organization's mission or goals. Coursework in the certificate program will build your media and digital literacy through the study of communication theory, communication research methods, principles of public relations, organizational identity and branding plus strategic digital design. You will explore how best to analyze audiences, craft messages, design information, choose among communication media, shape user experience and evaluate success.
