Pensacola State College is classified as a public, four-year institution. Pensacola State College was founded in 1948 as Pensacola Junior College. In 1956, Pensacola State College earned accreditation status through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.  The school operates with the mission “to maximize educational opportunities, through a variety of delivery methods that develop the academic, career, personal, and aesthetic capabilities of individuals for the benefit of themselves and the global community.” The college has a main campus located in Pensacola, Florida, and there are other campus locations in downtown Pensacola, Milton, and Warrington.
