Program Details

Penn West offers an M.Ed. in Teaching English as a Second Language. This online TESL program is geared towards certified teachers who want to expand their expertise teaching students with little or no English proficiency. Though fully online, the cohort format allows you to build a community with peers and experienced instructors. Moreover, asynchronous online courses allow you to study any place, any time. 

The curriculum includes sociolinguistics, language assessment, content-based instruction, and coursework that supports second language learners and their communities. Graduates go on to serve as:
