Students interested in pursuing a career in medical terminology have the opportunity to complete a specialized course curriculum and earn a certificate. As part of this program, offered by Penn Foster Career School, students identify medical terms by their respective component parts. Students study the different body systems, cavities, positions, and planes. The Medical Terminology Certificate program teaches students the importance of medical terminology and the role it plays within a healthcare system. The students learn to define the medical terms associated with the body systems.
Students wanting employment in the medical field are required to know and exercise common medical terminology used by medical professionals. This program is constructed primarily for individuals looking to refine existing healthcare knowledge or improve job performance by gaining a better understanding of medical terms. If this program sounds like a good fit, prospective students may fill out an online application under the Penn Foster Career School website. After the enrollment forms have been processed, students are able to begin their new learning through Penn Foster.
Students will need access to a Microsoft® Windows®-based computer running Windows® XP or later, Microsoft® Office 2010, and high-speed Internet in order to complete the Medical Terminology Certificate program with Penn Foster.
