Penn Foster

Program Details

By completing a Computer Graphic Artist diploma through Penn Foster Career School, students are able to learn graphic design skills online and at their own pace. Students are taught page layout techniques, image editing and retouching, and illustration. The program consists of six Instruction Sets of skills and techniques.

Students study color theory to convey ideas using color, as well as how to shade to create intensity, and the major principles of color composition. Students also study the role of computer graphics and how it can aid in creating animations, multimedia, and manipulating existing artwork.

Students interested in computer graphics will need to know Internet basics. How to use a browser, loading URL’s, search engines, system preferences, and bookmarking will be covered in the Computer Graphic Artist program. Students will be expected to learn the different typefaces, line spacing, and all the elements of a well-designed web page. Throughout the program, students will work with creating illustrations, using symbols, layers, filters, and how to prepare documents for printing and the web.
