The online Associate of Applied Science in Fire Science Technology program prepares students for careers as fire protection and prevention specialists, municipal public safety officers, arson investigators, industrial safety inspectors, and fire insurance and fire suppression system salespersons. Students will learn to define the roles and responsibilities of a fire and emergency services organization, identify safety factors associated with providing fire and emergency services, and understand the principles of fire and emergency services management in the firehouse, during training, and at emergencies. You will be able to explain the physical and chemical properties of fire behavior, smoke management, and fire progression within respective building types and understand the resources for fire suppression and emergency incident mitigation.
