OHSU runs on an intensive timeline. Extensive clinical hours and placements are central to the path, and they add real schedule pressure from term to term. The pace is built for learners who can carry sustained workload and stress while moving through hands-on training requirements.
Cost value here is tied to outcomes, not bargain pricing. The training depth and clinical preparation can make the investment feel worthwhile when career readiness is the goal. Time planning can also stretch during admissions, with NursingCAS verified-status notes around a 02/15 deadline and interview timing tied to Winter 2026 versus Summer/Fall 2025 starts. Scholarship options are described as scarce for second bachelor’s seekers.
OHSU follows through when students raise notes. In one cohort, teaching issues improved after notes were moved up. That shows a school that listens and makes changes. The curriculum is also set up to help students once classes begin.
The experience can still vary by course. Instructor quality is not the same in every class, so guidance may feel uneven during a term. The biggest stress point is often admissions. NursingCAS verification and mid-March interview timing can lead to long waits for next steps.
OHSU offers real online access in parts of some programs. In those sections, you can join class from home. Some lectures are recorded, so you can watch them again when needed. In biomedical informatics, students may do most coursework online with a few in-person sessions.
Clinical training still shapes the schedule. Required clinical hours and placements are a major part of many paths. That can make the pace feel demanding, even with online classes. Teaching support has improved in some cohorts, helping create a steadier learning experience over time.
Classes at OHSU move fast and ask a lot from students. The workload can feel heavy, and stress is part of the pace. Training stays tied to real health care work, with many clinical hours and placements built into each program.
In dentistry, students start hands-on practice early. First-year lab work uses mannequins and plastic teeth to build skill through repetition. That strong, practical training helps students prepare for clinical careers and real patient care.
Teaching quality can differ by course and program, so daily class experience is not always the same. Even so, instruction can improve over time, and programs do make changes to support better learning.
OHSU is a rigorous health-professions school. The core strength is clinical preparation. Extensive clinical hours and placements shape the experience. Training is hands-on and technical.
Many students connect that intensity to job readiness. The pace is heavy. Stress and workload are real parts of classes. Teaching quality can vary by instructor and program.
Still, OHSU has shown response when notes are raised. Some instructor issues improved after feedback. Online access exists in select paths. Some lectures can be re-watched from home.
But online convenience does not lighten the load. Clinical requirements still drive the calendar. Cost value is tied to outcomes, not low price.
