A Master's Degree in Education with a major in Special Education is available for a teacher license. The focus of the Special Education program at Ohio University centers on the delivery of quality services within limited resource environments.

- Have an undergraduate overall GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 grade scale
- Three satisfactory recommendations
- A statement of personal and professional reasons for seeking this degree and major (the writing sample)
Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP)
The Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) now administers both NCATE and TEAC accreditation. Current accreditation status under NCATE and TEAC for education programs will continue through the accreditation term, during which they will be CAEP Eligible.
