School Details
Northwest-Shoals Community College is a public, two-year institution of higher education, with the main campus located in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and a second campus in Phil Campbell, Alabama. The school is a result of the 1993 merger of Northwest Alabama Community College and Shoals Community College. Northwest Alabama Community College was founded in 1963 and Shoals Community College was founded in 1966. Northwest-Shoals Community College operates with the mission to “provide vocational, technical, academic, and lifelong educational opportunities; promote economic growth; and enhance the quality of life for the people of northwest Alabama.”
NWSCC awards associate’s degrees in addition to providing certificates and workforce training programs. Some courses, certificates, and degrees are also available through online learning. NWSCC online degrees feature the same objectives and outcomes as courses found on campus; the only difference is in the delivery. Requirements and time commitments are the same for online degrees and on-campus degrees but online offers greater flexibility, so you study on your own schedule.
