The online Patient Access Specialist Certificate program prepares students to be trained specialists who handle patient encounters, patient customer service, and other areas related to the intake and processing of the patient’s healthcare experience. Coursework includes customer service, patient check-in, admission, registration, revenue cycle and information systems, telephone communications, scheduling, coordinating, and canceling appointments.
