Program Details

Northern Arizona University offers an online liberal arts degree, the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies in Humanities.  This interdisciplinary liberal arts degree provides a strong foundation in liberal arts through a flexible program tailored to each student’s interests.  Students will study the nature of human imagination and where human values come from through the study of literature, film, technology, art, religion, and the environment while also learning to analyze, synthesize, and interpret societal issues from a variety of human perspectives.  You will gain critical thinking and communication skills that help you effectively communicate ideas in innovative ways to aid personal and community-based problem-solving within and between cultures.

This is designed as a bachelor completion program with students transferring credits from community colleges or other institutions into NAU and only the 30 credits taken at NAU used as a basis for assessment.
