Program Details

The online AAS in Finance Management degree program from North Hennepin Community College provides students with the knowledge and skills needed for entry-level positions in financial occupations. Graduates are prepared to:

  • Use prevalent business software & technology to access information & solve basic business tasks including the use of spreadsheet tools & formulas
  • Use quantitative analysis of financial information & accounting concepts to interpret information
  • Solve application problems involving basic business calculations such as percents, interests & time value of money among others
  • Describe the basic concepts of finance as it relates to business & quantitatively apply knowledge gained to assess financial risks of both individual & business decisions
  • Identify financial opportunities & examine the viability or feasibility of a new business concept through analyzing financial cases & applying central financial concepts
  • Interpret, compare & critique a company's financial statements

Requirements

  • Official high school transcript or GED certificate (if graduated in the past 5 years)
  • ACCUPLACER placement test (may be waived if the student has completed a college-level English composition or math course, or has recently taken the ACCUPLACER, ACT, MCA, or SAT and has qualifying test scores)
