Program Details

Nicholls State University offers an online Bachelor of Arts in English degree.  With this degree in English students gain career skills that are important for their futures, including skills in speaking and writing.  This English degree is a generic degree that you can use for teaching and for various other careers including law school and other graduate schools, administration, editing, publishing, public relations, business management, librarian, journalism, technical writing, script writer, novelist, and many more.  The curriculum is organized around core courses that introduce the discipline, literary studies, creative writing, rhetoric, and what kinds of jobs you can expect after graduating with a degree in English; then students choose from a wide variety of electives, including American and World literature, various literary genres, and themes addressing global issues.
