Program Details

This Master of Science in Forestry program is tailored for individuals holding a bachelor’s degree in a non-forestry field who aspire to pursue a career in forestry. This flexible program offers the majority of its courses online, allowing students to balance their studies with existing personal and professional commitments, regardless of their location. 

The program’s unique structure involves an intensive, field-based course over nine days to build foundational skills, followed by a series of asynchronous online courses with guided exercises and projects designed for practical application in nearby forests. Students complete their program with an in-person capstone project and examination. Throughout the program, students gain valuable knowledge in sustainable forest management, encompassing tree biology and identification, forest measurements and sampling, forest carbon and climate change, silviculture, forest ecology, human dimensions of forestry, GIS, and forest economics and management.
