School Details
Luther Rice College and Seminary is a private, four-year Baptist institution located in Lithonia, Georgia. The school’s mission statement is “to provide theological education for Christian ministers and leaders around the world with an end to granting undergraduate and graduate degrees.” The educational experience is designed to “instill biblical core values essential to excellence in Christian ministry and leadership.”
In mid-1962, the State of Florida granted a charter for a seminary to be placed in Jacksonville, Florida, and Luther Rice University was created. In 1991, the Seminary moved from Jacksonville to Lithonia, Georgia. The name of Luther Rice Seminary was changed in 2004 by the action of the Trustees to Luther Rice University.
