Program Details

The Master of Urban Design is an architecture degree from Lawrence Technological University.  Unlike traditional architecture degrees, this program addresses problems created by an increasingly complex urban environment.  The curriculum emphasizes “creative urban problem solving,” an essential aspect of holistic, practical, and socially responsible approaches to creating healthy and sustainable urban environments.  You will address the environmental, economic, social, and political forces that affect cities in local, regional, national, and global contexts using a balanced and holistic systems approach to design and policy initiatives.  

Graduates complete two certificates, Geographic Information Systems and Public Interest Design, along with these core courses:

  • Urban Design Studio 1 
  • History of Urban Form 
  • Current Issues in Urban Design 
  • Research Method
