Program Overview

Lasell College offers the Master of Science in Management degree with a specialization in Project Management for professionals with interests in developing knowledge of the strategies and procedures for managing projects for new business ventures or expanding existing business activities. Project management involves the development of one-time creations which either have ongoing or terminating functions, with project management focusing on developing those functions. Through the specialization, students will develop their knowledge of the strategies required to manage projects of various scopes, sizes and at various stages of pre-planning, planning, development, completion, and post-completion stages.

Students in the program will take part in a curriculum which focuses on training students in management of organizations and project management. Those courses include 21st century global leadership, strategic information management, financial management, organizational theory, marketing management, operations strategy, principles of project management, business strategy, change management, research methods, social gerontology, marketing research, marketing communications, and social marketing.

Upon completion of the program, students will have demonstrated advanced knowledge and skill as well as professional qualifications in management of developing projects. A few of the qualifications include: the ability to demonstrate an extensive and practical understanding of principles and practices of project management, to demonstrate effective professional and interpersonal practices essential in business, to develop a range of professional strategies that promote their effectiveness in project management environment, and to demonstrate ethical, legal, and responsible behavior necessary for roles of management within the responsibilities of management of project development.

    School Overview

    Lasell College is a four-year private school located in Newton, Massachusetts. Lasell College was founded in 1851 as the Auburndale Female Seminary, a nationally respected women’s academy, by Edward Lasell. Lasell died the first semester that the school was running. The name changed to Lasell Seminary for Young Women and was known as an innovative institution that had a radical approach (for the time) to women’s education. In 1932, the school’s name changed again to Lasell Junior College and became Lasell College in 1989.

    Lasell College offers bachelor’s degrees and master’s degrees. LC has traditional classes as well as online courses. Lasell’s graduate programs are flexible and convenient, so students pursue an advanced degree that fits into their personal and professional lives. All master's degrees are offered online with six start dates throughout the year.
