Master of Science in Management - Non-Profit Management
Lasell College offers the Master of Science in Management degree in Nonprofit Management for professionals interested in filling in the social and charitable gap in society which is not filled by government or business. Nonprofits exist for the purpose of creating positive social change, and through the program, students will gain the critical skills to lead diverse and complex nonprofit organizations. Students will learn about the ethics of nonprofit work and study to prepare for the financial, operational, leadership, and entrepreneurial skills needed to manage in nonprofit services.
Students will develop a core understanding of management and management responsibilities and focus on a curriculum that involves the development of a nonprofit skill-set. Those classes include 21st century global leadership, strategic information management, financial management, organizational theory, marketing management, operations strategy, social marketing, ethical theory in management, fundraising concepts and practices, research methods, social gerontology, human resources management, marketing research, and management ethics.
Individuals completing the program will have demonstrated the necessary professional and educational qualifications necessary for advanced roles relating to the management of nonprofit enterprises. These qualifications include but are not limited to: the ability to understand and apply concepts, principles, and processes related to nonprofit organizations in domestic and international settings, apply relevant ethical and legal guidelines and practices in public, private, and nonprofit organizations, to understand cultural diversity issues and apply cultural competency in public, private, and nonprofit organizations, and to understand and use appropriate statistics, research methodology, and program evaluation to conduct research related to public, private, and nonprofit organizations.

Lasell College is a four-year private school located in Newton, Massachusetts. Lasell College was founded in 1851 as the Auburndale Female Seminary, a nationally respected women’s academy, by Edward Lasell. Lasell died the first semester that the school was running. The name changed to Lasell Seminary for Young Women and was known as an innovative institution that had a radical approach (for the time) to women’s education. In 1932, the school’s name changed again to Lasell Junior College and became Lasell College in 1989.
Lasell College offers bachelor’s degrees and master’s degrees. LC has traditional classes as well as online courses. Lasell’s graduate programs are flexible and convenient, so students pursue an advanced degree that fits into their personal and professional lives. All master's degrees are offered online with six start dates throughout the year.
