Program Details

The Associate of Arts in General Education is an online liberal arts degree from Lamar Institute of Technology.  This program is a foundation for the Bachelor of Arts degree in institutions of higher education in Texas and is designed for students who plan to complete a bachelor’s degree instead of entering the workforce immediately after completion of the associate degree.  With this online liberal arts degree, you will be able to enter the bachelor’s degree program above the freshman level; this associate degree completes most, if not all, of the first two years of a bachelor’s degree.

The curriculum is composed of core general education courses in such subject areas as Communication, Mathematics, Life and Physical Sciences, Language and Culture, History, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Government, and more.  You will also choose electives to round out the program, allowing the student to complete more courses in areas of interest.
