Founded in 1968 as part of a 28-member community college system, Hillsborough Community College is currently the seventh largest community college in the State of Florida with five campuses and three centers. HCC enrolls the largest number of graduates from the School District of Hillsborough County who go on to higher education and is the largest community college feeder to the University of South Florida through the successful transfer program.
HCC offers more than 160 academic programs, including associate in arts tracks and workforce programs and is responsible for training the majority of the community’s first responders through its healthcare training and police and fire academies. Distance learning at Hillsborough Community College strives to bring HCC courses and programs to students through online or hybrid delivery. Online and hybrid courses have the same objectives, content, and transferability as campus-based courses, and many degrees can be earned completely online.
