Opening in 1924 as a cooperative venture between the Methodist Protestant Church and the City of High Point, High Point University is a private comprehensive institution. It is located in the middle of the action in North Carolina’s largest metropolitan area. HPU is only 20 minutes from both Greensboro and Winston-Salem. High Point University’s mission may be expressed as helping us to “appreciate and to love our own, to know our needs and opportunities, and to make ourselves more efficient servants of Christ.”
