Program Details

The online Master of Arts in Teaching with a focus on Special Education from Georgia College & State University provides initial teacher preparation at the master’s level for individuals who have a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution. This online program is open to individuals who do not hold a teacher’s certificate, as well as those who hold a provisional teaching certificate in the state of Georgia. The goal of the master’s degree in teaching and special education is for students to gain the skills to design and implement research-based programs in educational settings and positively impact school systems.

Students must complete an electronic portfolio and pass a content examination. This program is a mentor-led, field-based cohort model.
