Program Details

This graduate certificate brings international understanding to teacher education programs through highly qualified faculty and globally-minded students, preparing educators for domestic and international teaching assignments. Coursework in Advanced International Baccalaureate (AIB) Studies focuses on IB theory, pedagogy, and research and provides advanced professional development for teachers on the philosophy, elements, and assessments of the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (DP). This program does not lead to licensure.

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or GPA of 3.0 in the last 60 hours of study
  • Goals statement
  • Two sealed official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
  • Three letters of recommendation

Special Accreditation

Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP)

The Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) now administers both NCATE and TEAC accreditation. Current accreditation status under NCATE and TEAC for education programs will continue through the accreditation term, during which they will be CAEP Eligible.
