Program Details

Genesee Community College offers an online Associate in Science in Liberal Arts & Science in General Studies degree.  This liberal arts degree was developed to help students transfer to a four-year institution to earn a bachelor’s degree, allowing them to complete the first two years of a bachelor’s degree at Genesee.  This flexible program allows you to design your own study program designed to meet your interests and goals.  Students who have not decided on a specific academic or career goal will find this flexibility in the liberal arts degree especially helpful. 

Upon completion of the program, you will be able to:

  • Conduct research
  • Communicate clearly
  • Collaborate with others and work independently


  • High school transcript or GED
  • College transcripts, if applicable
  • ACT test scores, or take the Accuplacer placement test
  • Students must submit a certificate of residence to qualify for New York State resident tuition
