In short, marketing is an act of communication. Students who are enrolled in this program will acquire the knowledge and skills to develop products and services to satisfy customers' needs, and then make them available at the right places, at the right times and at competitive prices. They will learn how to get a message out through different types of communication, such as people, computers, images, text, audio etc. The marketing business is a bit more involved than just communicating, employers are looking for candidates that are also capable of management. That is where the business administration portion comes in, here students will learn how to plan, coordinate, direct and advertise. Students will learn how to communicate with clients and how to motivate their employees.
Graduates from the Bachelor of Business Studies in Marketing program will find themselves looking at possible job titles such as: Account Executive, Advertising Manager, Sales Representative/Director, Marketing/Advertising Services Manager, Product/Brand Manager, or Marketing Communications. A successful career in marketing will require the understanding of a number of concepts, theories, principles and techniques that can all be obtained at Dallas Baptist University.

Minimum of 42 upper-level credit hours. (Exception: Inverted Degree Program)
Minimum of 12 credit hours in major in residence at Dallas Baptist University, 9 credit hours of which must be upper-level.
Minimum of 32 credit hours in residence at DBU.
Completion of 30 of the last 36 credit hours in residence at Dallas Baptist University. Students must receive approval of the registrar prior to taking courses at any other college or university.
Minimum of 126 credit hours to graduate.
Satisfactory completion of all requirements on official degree plan.
