Program Details

Gain skills and develop strategies to work more effectively with families and individuals affected by trauma with an online Graduate Certificate in Trauma, Resilience, and Self-Care Strategies from Concordia University, St. Paul. Designed for practitioners who work with those experiencing trauma or with a history of toxic stress exposure, the 15-credit program features a modern, relevant curriculum and can be completed in just under a year.

Our courses explore topics such as trauma and stressor-related disorders, the impact of trauma on the developing brain, and the behavioral health aspects of trauma. Each class is taught by two professors from different service fields to ensure a multidisciplinary perspective. Upon graduation, learners have sought-after skills in fostering self-care, mindfulness strategies, sleep improvement strategies, crisis intervention practices, and more. Students can also build their resumes with publication in Concordia, St. Paul’s Forensic Scholars Today.

Graduates apply their skills to multiple fields in human service, criminal justice, forensic behavioral health, and family science, acting as frontline change agents. The program is approved by the Minnesota Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Board for credit toward peace officer licensure. Students have the opportunity to transfer credits from the certificate program into CSP Global’s M.A. in Human Services with an emphasis in Trauma, Resilience, and Self-Care Strategies program.
