Program Details

The online Associate of Arts in Liberal Studies degree is designed for students preparing to transfer to a four-year institution to complete a bachelor’s degree.  The curriculum covers subjects in liberal arts, including offering an emphasis in:

  • Communication
  • English
  • Humanities
  • Journalism
  • Philosophy

Regardless of the emphasis chosen, students will take courses that introduce them to that area of liberal arts while the remainder of the program covers general education.  You will complete the general education courses that are generally taken in the first two years of a four-year program prior to transferring into a four-year institution.


  • High school transcript or GED certificate
  • Not required if the applicant is 18 years of age or more
  • Accuplacer placement test may be required
