Program Details

Learn ways to help patients without much patient contact with the Associate of Science in Health Information Management & Technology.  Health informatics online degrees will teach healthcare, information technology, and data management.  Courses offer a versatile but focused skill set that covers electronic health record (EHR) data management, data analytics, information integrity, data quality, workflow re-design, and medical coding and billing.  You will be ready to tackle responsibilities in:

  • Healthcare Compliance
  • Revenue Management
  • Data Use and Analytics
  • Information Governance

Coursework prepares students for “behind the scenes” patient care using such tools as case scenarios, hands-on HIM applications, and professional practicum experiences.  Further prepare for a career by taking the national certification examination to become a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT).
