Program Details

The Associate of Arts in History degree from Bucks County Community College is an online history degree for students planning to transfer to a four-year institution to further their studies.  Coursework covers history and historical reasoning as students learn to develop higher-level thinking through the exercise of critical and analytical thinking.  You will learn to identify the relationships between the past and present and the world and nation as you are immersed in the perspectives of past civilizations and cultures.  Students will debate and assess the historical genesis of contemporary issues while developing the skills needed to seek answers that enhance a greater understanding of our nation and world. 

Graduates are able to:

  • Understand American historical heritage
  • Understand Western historical heritage
  • Understand the historical heritage in at least one Non-Western culture
  • Analyze historical literature in major journals
  • Write historical reports using the University of Chicago style
