Program Details

The online Associate of Arts in English degree is a liberal arts degree from Bucks County Community College for those planning to transfer to a four-year institution to earn advanced degrees or who plan to enter the workforce.  With this English degree, students gain a general education with a focus on the study of English.  You will study a variety of literature wile honing your academic writing skills, so you gain proficiency in written communication, including awareness of purpose and audience, the ability to effectively compose documents, and facility with thesis and argument construction.  Courses help students identify the distinguishing characteristics of literary genres and the historical and cultural environments in which literary texts have been created.
