Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting
Brenau University offers a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting for students who are interested in learning the principles and procedures of accounting for a variety of roles, including work as an accountant, or for the utilization of the knowledge of accounting for management or entrepreneurship. Students will develop an understanding about the fundamentals of accounting, as well as the roles and responsibilities of accountants within a business or organizational structure. In addition, students will learn the experience and knowledge necessary for entry into the field of accounting.
Students will develop an understanding through courses related to the functions of businesses and the responsibilities of accountants. Those classes include accounting principles, microeconomics, macroeconomics, management principles, business statistics, business communications, legal environment of business ,human resources management, organizational behavior, marketing principles, managerial finance, business ethics, value chain management, intermediate accounting, taxation, cost accounting, and auditing and assurance services.
Students completing the program will have demonstrated the necessary understanding of accounting and professional qualifications necessary for entry-level positions in accounting. These qualifications include, but are not limited to the ability to demonstrate proficiency in the fundamental business principles and practices that enable firms to operate in both domestic and global environments, to utilize accounting principles and critical thinking capacity to find solutions to problems in accounting, and to analyze ethical issues in accounting that impact business decisions from economic, political, legal, and social perspectives.

Brenau University first opened in 1878, as seminary for women. By 1972, the school began initiatives to provide educational opportunities for adult students and nontraditional learners. Today, Brenau University is a four-year, private not-for-profit, coeducational institution of higher education, located in the city of Gainesville, Georgia.
Students can pursue associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees, in addition to postgraduate certificates and doctoral programs. Brenau University provides a number of undergraduate and graduate distance education programs, including associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees.
Brenau Online oversees distance education programming for the university. Brenau strives to create a highly interactive virtual learning environment. Individual classes can be completed within seven weeks, and are asynchronous. While classes do not require on-campus components, students must attend virtual courses from five to seven days per week. Certified instructors receive training specifically geared towards teaching distance education courses.
