Boise State University

Program Details

The Graduate Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, K-12 uses TESOL frameworks to help educators who have non-native English speakers in their classrooms. This online ESL graduate certificate prepares graduates to support all learners. In this way, all students can learn the academic content presented.

The primary purpose of this certificate aims to teach students English. This, in turn, allows non-native English speakers to succeed in schools where English is the language of instruction.

The ESL courses within this program use the vocabulary and structures found in content area classes to teach English. Children simultaneously learn the English language and content knowledge.
