The online Specialist in Educational Leadership in Special Education program is designed for special education teachers with Master’s degrees that want to prepare for Special Education Director leadership roles at the campus or district level. The curriculum prepares students to administer and coordinate learning and activities for special education students. Students learn how to provide leadership and expertise in assessing, identifying, and implementing special education goals and to collaborate with related services and personnel, including psychologists, speech therapists, and teaching staff.
At least a 3.25 GPA in a master's degree from an accredited institution and program
Baccalaureate degree with a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.0 (4.0 scale) from an accredited institution
Two years of experience as a special education teacher in an educational institution
A current state-issued special educator's teaching license
A written commitment from a practicing special education director or central office administrator who will serve as a mentor
