Program Details

The Academy of Art University offers an online fashion degree, the Associate of Arts in Fashion Journalism.  This program, which features a special focus on Social Media, prepares students with subject-area expertise to help communicate the increasing complexity of the global fashion industry.  In addition to a fashion degree, this is also an online writing degree that will help students gain the journalistic skills needed to succeed in media of all forms, from traditional print platforms to the growing world of online journalism and social media.  The curriculum forms a foundation enabling students to ask informed questions, convey fashion news in a larger context, and evaluate fashion collections with a critical, well-informed eye.  You will gain technical skills that help you work effectively with industry standard software and learn to research and develop material appropriate for print, online, broadcast, or social media.  Graduates are prepared to produce basic materials required for entry-level jobs, including being able to intelligently discuss major fashion movements and the work of key stylists, designers, photographers, and magazines.
