About NorthWest Arkansas Community College
Northwest Arkansas Community College, a two-year, public institution of higher learning, can trace its origins to the 1970s, when it operated as a branch campus of what was then known as North Arkansas Community College. Then in 1989, the citizens of Bentonville and Rogers, Arkansas voted to establish the branch as an independent school, and it adopted its Northwest Arkansas Community College title. The core mission of NWACC is to “serve and strengthen the community through learning for living.” Today NWACC has over 8,000 students and more than 75 degrees and certificates.
Students at NWACC can complete a variety of programs leading to associate degrees or career and technical certificates, which can transfer to four-year institutions or straight into the workforce, respectively. In addition to traditional, face-to-face classes, Northwest Arkansas Community College offers over 200 online classes through the distance learning program. There are 9 different degrees available either 100% or 95% online. NWACC online degrees are designed and taught by the same instructors who teach on campus but allow students to complete coursework on their own schedules.
