About Herkimer County Community College
It was in the 1960s that the State University of New York Master Plan identified Herkimer County as a potential community college site. It was a location and a community that showed great promise to support such an important endeavor. Overlooking a small village in Upstate New York, Herkimer College is a two-year unit of the State University of New York, the nation’s largest comprehensive system of public higher education. A two-year degree from Herkimer prepares students for jobs or to continue their education at a four-year school.
Herkimer College provides a quality, affordable education with more than 40 degree programs available. Through the Internet Academy, many degree programs and certificate programs are offered entirely online. Today there are over 20 associate degree programs and several one-year certificates 100% online. Herkimer College online degrees have the goal of offering the same level of care and service to online students as is offered to on-campus students. Online programs feature a supportive environment with caring faculty who regularly “refresh” courses to keep pace with quality benchmarks of online learning.
