The New York Institute of Technology was founded in 1955 through a provisional charter granted by the New York State Board of Regents. By 1960 another provisional charter was granted that allowed The New York Institute of Technology to operate as a four-year college. The New York Institute of Technology is classified as a private four-year institution. Its mission is “… to provide career-oriented professional education, to offer access to opportunity to all qualified students and to support applications-oriented research that benefits the larger world.”
NYIT offers undergraduate and graduate degrees and certificates. Many of NYIT’s degrees are available online.
