Program Details

The Associate of Applied Science in Information Technology from York County Community College is an online information technology degree that prepares students for entry-level careers in the field.  With an information technology degree, you will be studying technology in courses that feature a business slant, learning how the needs of business and industry intersect with the application of computers.  The curriculum covers troubleshooting, system administration, computer networks, web systems, computer programming, and databases.  As you examine the constantly changing and evolving world of technology, you will also gain skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, and troubleshooting.  Students are taught how to solve a variety of computer hardware, software, and networking problems and understand system, network, and security requirements for various organizations.  Graduates are ready to act ethically and to apply industry standards and codes of conduct while appreciating diversity in the workplace.
