Program Details

The online Advanced Bookkeeping Certificate program from Yavapai College prepares students for entry-level positions in a variety of business and office settings where knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting practices is required. Courses, the credit for which may also be applied toward the Accounting Assistant Certificate, provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to:

  • ​Perform financial accounting functions using proper format and procedure based on Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the International Financial and Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • ​Prepare, analyze, and interpret financial statements and reports for service, merchandising, and manufacturing companies
  • ​Analyze and communicate the effects of tax rules on individuals, partnerships, and corporations, and prepare basic tax returns for each
  • ​Use current technology and software applications to input, manage, and interpret financial information

Requirements

  • To qualify for in-state tuition, proof of Arizona state residency and U.S. Citizenship required
